CannaSwissCup selects the 35 best cannabis strains of the year

The CannaSwissCup selects the best Swiss cannabis varieties. The jury members have to test the cannabis varieties and determine the best in each category including indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse varieties online. It ends during CannaTrade 2020 on May 17. After the award show, CannaSwissCup will publish the results and invites those interested to apply to be a part of the jury for the 2021 event.

Switzerland is known for high-quality CBD in Europe and the country’s best strains are going to be redefined every year and represented at the annual CannaSwissCup.

The CannaSwissCup has more than 20 years of tradition with an additional tradition to pre-select the best cannabis strains for the CannaSwissCup jury box.

The CannaSwissCup jury day

Interested producers for the CannaSwissCup were required to register their cannabis varieties by Oct. 30, 2019, and in January, the varieties are submitted and tested for THC, CBD, nicotine, pesticides, and mycotoxins.

Additionally, a terpene analysis is also carried out before a selected jury chooses the best 35 varieties for the jury box. Strains in the jury box can then be purchased by all adults living in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.

Before the jury box could be decided, on a dedicated day, chosen jury members meet at “Grüne Fee,” the Swiss absinthe bar in Solothurn. Many well-known faces of the hemp and cannabis scene are also there to inspect and test the submitted CannaSwissCup CBD strains.

The organization has once again spared no expense and effort to make it as pleasant as possible for the jury. Everything was prepared, from catering and accommodation, so that the jury could enjoy the stay from the first to the last minute.

As a special highlight, the illustrator and caricaturist Ivan Artucovich (Ivan Art,) who is well known and appreciated in the scene, was also invited.

Jurors had a task to select the 35 best cannabis strains from the submitted varieties for the CannaSwissCup jury box. These 900 boxes are filled after the event before being available for order.

As such, 900 lucky people will have the opportunity to deal extensively with the jury boxes and their contents. After all, these 900 people are the ones who will select the winners in the CannaSwissCup categories that include outdoor, indoor, and greenhouse strains.

CannaSwissCup winners will be announced at CannaTrade in Bern on May 17. In addition to the 35 cannabis samples, the jury box also contains two three-day passes for CannaTrade.

After a long day with delicious experiences, lots of cannabis impressions and many interesting conversations, the CannaSwissCup jury was happy and in good spirits to have made an excellent selection.

The CannaSwissCup also has a raffle that opens up participation for the next jury day for two people. Those who wish to participate can apply online through the CannaSwissCup website.
