Goldenseed’s survey shows cannabis consumption during the pandemic

The North American cannabis company, Goldenseed, has recently made a survey that shows the behavior of cannabis consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data showed that most people use cannabis in order to control their anxiety and stress. Also, a large part of cannabis consumers believe that there will be a shortage of products in the near future due to these extreme circumstances.

The vast majority of cannabis consumers in the world are currently using this plant to stay calm during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a recent study conducted by California’s Goldenseed cannabis company.

The study showed that 73.7% of cannabis consumers experienced the stress and anxiety of being locked indoors for a long period of time. Social distancing is a necessary measure to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19 respiratory infection.

Goldenseed a model company in the North American cannabis industry

Goldenseed is a North American cannabis company based in Santa Cruz County, California, with farms expanding over 20 acres, in the hills of Monterey Bay. The company’s brand is labeled as 100% naturally grown, focusing on delivering high-quality cannabis products.

Cultivation, manufacturing, a solid distribution chain, offering its products in many dispensaries in the state, and a great variety of products with different concentrations of both THC and CBS are some of the aspects that made Goldenseed a noteworthy company in the U.S.

“It’s interesting that so many people are using cannabis to alleviate their anxiety at this unprecedented and uncertain time when so many people’s lives have been seriously disrupted,” said Scott Goldie, Goldenseed co-founder and CEO.

A recent survey shows how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting cannabis consumers

The results of the study conducted by Goldenseed should not be surprising. Some analyses so far have shown that most medical cannabis patients take cannabis to control their mood and stress levels. Although, official state data indicate that most patients use medical cannabis to fight chronic pain.

Among the results of the survey are worth mentioning the following facts:

  • 40 percent of consumers said they used even more cannabis during the coronavirus pandemic than before the pandemic.
  • 35 percent fear a shortage of cannabis on the market in the near future.
  • 34 per cent said they were frequent cannabis consumers.

A total of 1,277 respondents took part in the survey, and responses were collected from March 29th to March 30th, among adults aged 21 to 65 years.

“These results reflect a number of trends we have observed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic,” said Scott Goldie. “The most important of these is consumer concern about limited cannabis supplies. These concerns are justified, as many companies are experiencing increasing demand.”

Cannabis sales keep fluctuating in North America as the pandemic continues

While California registered above-average sales compared to the same weeks last year, other states are not doing so well.

Recent sales figures from analytical firm Headset indicate that the states of Washington and Colorado are experiencing serious declines in cannabis sales. That is happening  despite the fact that both states have seen huge increases in sales two weeks ago – when people started building up their cannabis stocks.

However, it may be that the current drop in sales is due to the fact that consumers still have stocks of cannabis and are trying to shop as little as possible.
