Test kits for cannabis products containing THC are already known to pharmacists from some manufacturers. Now a new CBD NRF kit for the formulation of medical GMP-certified CBD oil is available and will appear on the German healthcare market. Offered by German wholesaler Cannamedical Pharma GmbH, the CBD NRF kit comes in addition to THC extracts and dried cannabis flowers that are available.
In order to help pharmacists prepare medications for patients, a German wholesaler is now equipping pharmacies with a so-called CBD NRF kit for the formulation of medical GMP-certified CBD oil.
The preparation of prescriptions, especially for medical cannabis, is not always easy in the pharmacy. It is important that they are passed on in detail. This is especially important for prescriptions with THC and CBD.

Cannamedical Pharma GmbH is now offering a GMP-certified CBD formulation kit according to NRF 22.10. for the production of CBD oil of pharmaceutical quality on the German healthcare market.
With the CBD NRF kit, Cannamedical enables pharmacists to produce CBD oils according to the New Prescription Form (NRF) for the treatment of patients with different conditions, such as neurodegenerative or chronic inflammatory diseases, as well as certain forms of epilepsy.
“Since the European Commission decided to include CBD in the Novel Food Regulation in 2019, patients have been looking for a legally secure alternative to CBD oil with pharmaceutical quality,” said David Henn, CEO and founder of Cannamedical Pharma GmbH. “This is our second major market entry and in 2020, we will also offer THC extracts in Europe.”
The CBD formulation kit contains all the auxiliary and active ingredients required by the pharmacist as well as accessories for the preparation and filing of up to six 5% or three 10% oils with the active ingredient cannabidiol in the form of a natural pure isolate. This can be used for all CBD-containing oils or flowers.
The product portfolio currently consists of 16 “Indica,” “Sativa,” “Hybrid” and CBD-rich cannabis flowers in four active ingredient categories.
With the CBD NRF kit, an additional promising therapeutic option is added. Experts hope that Cannamedical will also provide a test kit to better equip pharmacists.
