First Southern Hemp Expo showcases the developing industry

The people who made the first hemp expo possible in Colorado, in 2013, made another development by successfully organizing the first Southern Hemp Expo held last Sept. 28 to 29. 4,000 people attended the two-day event, consisting of farmers, investors, retailers, consumers and many more. There were also 50 speakers during the event and 100 exhibitors showcased their products.

They successfully organized the first Southern Hemp Expo held last Sept. 28 to 29. 4,000 people attended the two-day event, consisting of farmers, investors, retailers, consumers and many more. In plus, there were 50 speakers during the event and 100 exhibitors.

The sold-out event was held at the Fairgrounds Nashville. Attendees were able to interact with experts from the Let’s Talk Hemp Stage. Some of the speakers include former NFL players Jake Long and Matt Wilhelm, Nutiva and Re: Botanicals founder John Roulac, Hemp Industries Association Executive Director Colleen Keahy Lanier, and many more.

Above all, the CEO of Bluhen Botanicals, Joe Fox, believes that it has been a productive event. He said, “Our agricultural advisors met with farmers from across the country at the show to discuss the best methods for growing premium hemp. The hemp wellness industry is expanding rapidly, largely driven by innovative niche applications.

We developed a number of strategic partnerships as a result of the Southern Hemp Expo, that will quickly position Bluehen Botanicals as a leader in the largest channels of this industry.”

Anavii Market

Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Anavii’s business focuses on cannabidiol or CBD. CBD is the non-psychoactive component of cannabis plants. Above all, CBD does not make consumers high, but it provides the same therapeutic effects. Anavii offers a selection of high-quality CBD products that are all tested in a laboratory and verified by a third-party institution.

Laura’s Mercantile

This business offers chocolates made with hemp seed. It is a new business venture by Laura’s Lean Beef. The founder of the Laura’s Mercantile, from Winchester, Kentucky, is Laura Freeman.

LabCanna

The company is a licensed hemp processor based in Franklin, Tennessee. In an interview, CEO Josh Camp said that some CBD enthusiasts are not looking to get high but to experience the health benefits of using CBD. Moreover, he said that the Southern Hemp Expo was a great way to showcase startups in the cannabis industry.

Warfighter Hemp

The aim of Warfighter Hemp is to promote CBD as an alternative to opioids. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, about 115 people die every day in the U.S. because of an opioid overdose. Apart from advocating the use of CBD as an alternative pain reliever, the company also donates 50 percent of its profit to nonprofit organizations to aid veterans.

Some CBD enthusiasts are not looking to get high but to experience the health benefits of using CBD. (Source)

Bluhen Botanicals

The company was the event’s presenting sponsor. Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Bluhen Botanical will be the largest hemp biomass processing and extraction facility in its home state.

According to Colorado Hemp Company Co-Founder Morris Beegle, she believes that Tennessee, Kentucky and other regions in the south would become the top hemp suppliers in the country.

With thousands of attendees and hundreds of business participants, the event actually proved one point. In short, there is great promise in the cannabis industry, in the southern region of the United States.
