An unprecedented move in the global cannabis scene

“This is a historic moment, without any precedent worldwide. This is why Khiron must continue to meet the needs of people. The launch of the teleconsultation service was made possible thanks to the medical expertise of our staff and the patient network already established. That allows us to make rapid progress in delivering our clinical services, as well as prescribing master formulas for those who require them,” noted Alvaro Torres, CEO and director of Khiron.

In the initial phase, the teleconsultations will address the priority needs of patients. Gradually, other services will be opened in the coming weeks to make the complete portfolio available to Colombians. This includes Khiron’s network of more than 120,000 patients, established through ILANS and Zerenia medical facilities.

In addition, the company is currently advancing collaborative programs with third parties to ensure that the program meets the requirements for insurance coverage.

“Contingency plans have been established at all our facilities, including the medical complexes; essential to serve the community. Thanks to the implementation of these programs, both the clinics and the supply chain continue to operate under the government regulations established to address the current pandemic,” concluded the company’s CEO.

Khiron is giving a hand to those who need it the most

In addition, Khiron activated a series of initiatives to help local communities in its area of operation, the municipality of Piedras in the department of Tolima.

“Understanding the challenges we may face this season, we decided to deliver 300 nutritional kits to vulnerable families who do not receive any benefits from the Government. These families are located in the 13 villages of Piedras. We also delivered a donation of essential hospital supplies to the San Sebastian Hospital in Piedras and will make available a health professional, as well as a head nurse, whose function will be to support the work of the medical center and improve care during the emergency,” added the company’s CEO.

Khiron strict measures to protect its workers during the pandemic

For its part, Khiron also announced internal measures such as work from home, supported by routines and strategies to organize daily life and develop healthy habits during the home office. The aim of that is to protect the integrity of the team. These guidelines go hand in hand with the health protocols dictated by the WHO and the country’s health authorities.

In the cultivation areas, a scheme for mitigating personnel movements and controlled confinement was implemented to reduce the probability of contagion to a minimum.

Also, for people who require it, the Khiron team has support and consultation lines with professionals specialized in fear, stress, depression and anxiety management. There is a team of psychologists in charge of identifying the psychosocial risk factors that the current health emergency situation imposes on workers and which influences their health and work performance. This team carries out constant monitoring of the mental health of the collaborators under a prevention approach.

Periodically, the company shares through its internal communication networks, self-care advice and attention to the family circle, aimed at preventing possible forms of contagion inside the home or the consequences that excessive cleaning could have on the immune system, the skin or the respiratory system.
